TQ0304 : Black Ditch in Toddington

near to Toddington, West Sussex, Great Britain

Black Ditch in Toddington
Black Ditch in Toddington
As with TQ0204 : Black Ditch in Lyminster the title is probably a slight misnomer as the boundary between the Civil Parishes of Poling, to the right, and Littlehampton to the left, of which Toddington is part, runs down the centre of the watercourse. Black Ditch is a tributary of the River Arun and is a mediaeval waterway probably built to formalize the drainage of the low-lying land to the north of the coastal strip.
