SO2730 : A very old farm?
near to Capel-y-Ffin, Powys, Great Britain

A very old farm?
Almost hidden under trees is an old ruin which might have been a farm owned by Llanthony Priory. The land here is fairly high up the mountainside but has been drained and landscaped so now there are patches of lush pasture instead of rough, reedy moor. In the foreground the grass has been cut for hay or silage. Nearby there were stone walls and deep drainage ditches.
On the other side of Hatterall Hill in the Olchon Valley there is a similar ruin and farmland which archaeologists have recently linked with Llanthony Priory.
