Warkworth Castle
Warkworth Castle
The impressive and seemingly impenetrable keep, from the north. Most of this would have been constructed in the 14th century, although the castle was a ruin for many years after 1572. Much restoration took place under the stewardship of the 3rd and 4th Dukes of Northumberland in the 19th century, and more recently by English Heritage.
