Peterborough Cathedral - with some scaffolding
Scaffolding is a common sight adorning our magnificent mediæval churches and cathedrals. It is obviously there for the important reason that the building is undergoing required repairs, but it detracts from the view nonetheless. Strangely, I rarely notice such extensive scaffolding on any of continental Europe's equivalent buildings - perhaps they're all being allowed to fall down. Anyway - rather more of this magnificent West Front is now visible than when David Luther Thomas visited a couple of years before (see TL1998 : Peterborough Cathedral)
