Foxton Locks
Foxton is a showcase location for British Waterways which, despite its rural location, attracts dozens of visitors, young and old, especially on a warm (if overcast) Sunday afternoon. They come to visit the pubs, the shop, the museum and see the remains of the inclined plane; mostly, however, they gawp at boats passing through Foxton's ten locks - arranged in two staircases of five each. As if the locks weren't daunting enough, boaters have to contend with a gallery of spectators.
