Site of Metchley Roman fort
The earthworks mark the western edge of Metchley Roman Fort. This is at the west end of the medical school. The dark brick building on the right is the pathology lab area, the tall orange building is the recent medical school extension, the light buildings in the distance are the old University Hospital and the building on the extreme left is the postgraduate medical centre.
