An important person's tomb, St Matthew's church, Coates
The tomb contains the remains of someone who was clearly a person of some standing in the community. I think it is Victorian. It is pleasing to note that the railings didn't go the way of many others of its type in the great rush for recycling iron during the second world war. The top of the tomb carries a representation of a cross or perhaps a mace.
