Martin memorial window
This window in the south wall of St Columba's Church was designed in 1987 by Patrick Ross-Smith and commemorates Major-General J.S.S. Martin (1889-1973) of the Indian Medical Service. The cloak and sword are a reference to St Martin, the soldier bishop of Tours who divided his own garment to clothe a mendicant. The Gospel quotation "I was naked and ye clothed me" is from Matthew 25:36 and the lower panel shows the ruined church of St Francis (Cnoc na Cille) Link
near Husabost House, the home of the Martin family.
