The farm nearby is reputedly where the last wolf in Scotland (?) was killed. A rural legend perhaps. On warm, summer afternoons we would walk out the mile and a half from Biggar and go swimming there. The bigger boys would always warn us of the deep pools where unsuspecting youths would meet their doom.
