NU2310 : Aln estuary

taken 8 years ago, near to Bilton, Northumberland, Great Britain

Aln estuary
Aln estuary
Looking at the last few hundred metres of the river Aln. It is low tide and it looks as though the river does not reach the sea. This is the shorter route since the storm of 1806 diverted it north instead of south of Church hill to the right. In the foreground, in this square, the harvest has been completed.
