SK9771 : Lincoln Cathedral, Lincoln

Lincoln Cathedral, Lincoln
Lincoln Cathedral, Lincoln
338 steps up the tower can be had this view of the south transept and the Minster Yard. You don't climb the steps all in one go, there is a break to get your breath back on the gallery of the south transept and another break to view the mechanism which strikes the bells, which are further up in the tower.
Could you get to the top? The climb up and back down is the equivalent of going up and down a standard flight of stairs, in a house, twenty-two times.
You are advised to wear sensible shoes and not to climb the tower if you have a pacemaker as there is a transmitter at the top, which can cause problems for wearers.
