Kissing gate and footbridge near Northwick, Worcester
Kissing gate and footbridge near Northwick, Worcester
The kissing gate gives access to a footbridge, which crosses what appears to be a ditch. The structure of the kissing gate is the modern metal type, but the gate itself is made of wood and painted white, which looks rather odd. The public footpath, which goes over the bridge, continues on the other side as a very narrow path, running adjacent to, but fairly high above, the River Severn. Parts of this path are uneven and in places the side has partially crumbled away. It needs considerable care to walk it and in muddy weather would probably be best avoided.
