High Marnham Power Station
High Marnham Power Station
Aerial shot of the High Marnham coal-fired power station on the River Trent in Nottinghamshire. The station is now closed.

In the background is Fledborough viaduct an extraordinary feat of engineering. The 59 arches and 9 million bricks, not forgetting its central girder spans formerly carried the Lancashire, Derbyshire & East Coast Railway for half-a-mile over the River Trent.
The line closed in the 1980's after a derailment.
