TR3240 : Dover Western Docks Sidings

taken 42 years ago, near to Dover, Kent, England

Dover Western Docks Sidings
Dover Western Docks Sidings
Located between the seawall and Dover Marine Station. The red brick building on the left is the station itself - see TR3240 : The former Marine Station, Dover by John Mavin for a view of the interior.

In the foreground 73106 rests between duties. Behind on the left is a shed for housing emu's between journeys to Victoria. On the right is a string of tanks used for importing French wine for bottling in the UK. On the extreme right, anglers can be seen on the seawall.

These sidings were replaced by a road and a car park in the 1990's - the emu shed was demolished.
