Looking NW from the path up Ben Nevis, from about 1200m
Fort William is behind the 'whale-back' hill in the centre [Meall an t-Suidhe]. Beyond that is Loch Linnhe and its junction with Loch Eil at The Narrows, where the pale patch in the centre is the Corpach Paper Mill NN0876 which was reported to be closing in September 2005. Arjo Wiggins, the global multinational which owned the mill, said the market for its products had been "destroyed" by electronic transactions. For another view from just a little higher and 21 years later see Stephen Sweeney's photo NN1571 : View from Ben Nevis at 1250m.
