The Cuckoo Stone, Erringden
The Cuckoo Stone, Erringden
This looks to be a natural feature - was it perhaps casually dropped by a retreating glacier? It seems to be a chunk of the local millstone grit. There must surely be some folk-lore attached to it, but I haven't managed to find out anything. See SD9925 : The Cuckoo Stone, Erringden for a closer view.
