Bothwell Street tenements
Bothwell Street tenements
The Parliamentary Register Of Voters for 1900-01 gives a turn-of-the-century snapshot of the occupations of this street's tenants. They include a joiner [x2], blacksmith [x2], grocer [x2], railway servant [x6], [locomotive] fireman, maltman, mason [x2], lithographer, plumber [x4], boilermaker, lorryman, tailor [x4], engineer, upholsterer, tinsmith, ironmoulder, warehouseman [x2], shopman, compositor, machineman and seaman.

The street features in the short film 'The Singing Street' made by teachers from Norton Park School in 1950 and released the following year. It shows pupils playing traditional singing games in various back streets off Easter Road and the Canongate. One of the Bothwell Street sequences shows girls playing next to an old timber yard behind this tenement. LinkExternal link
