Metro tram No 12 is crossing the final section of the Ring Road St George's to complete its journey from Birmingham.
The Midland Metro opened on 30th May 1999. It is a 12 mile tram-line with a short on-street section in Wolverhampton, the rest following the former Great Western Railway trackbed (closed in 1972). The trams are powered by 750 volt DC electric current supplied though overhead power cables.
