Scutt's Grove
Scutt's Grove
The name of this small strip of woodland according to the 1842 tithe map. The course of the Sussex Greensand Way, a Roman road that ran from Barcombe Mills to Hardham, ran through this wood and interestingly the path in view highlighted by the fallen leaves seems to cross that contains a small bank either side which could well suggest a former highway fallen into disuse after being rerouted.
