WWII Target Practice Barge
This was one of 2 barges deliberately sunk in WWII to provide target practice for fighter aircraft protecting the cities and ports in the northern Bristol Channel. This 'barge', really a small coaster, has a single boiler and carried a cargo of ballast.
This area has the second highest tidal range in the world and has many hazards - DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REACH THIS BARGE unless you are fully prepared and have a good knowledge of the local tides and dangers. Please advise the Coastguard if you plan a visit.
