Remains of Herring Station at Heylor, Shetland
Evidence of a building and the remains of a wheeled small wagon that would have been used to bring the crans of herring in from the pier to the farlins or benches where gutters worked with the herring. This work was done in the open air with herring packed with salt in barrels for storage and shipping.
