1GL bench mark and bolt on the church of St John the Baptist, Cayton
This First Geodetic Levelling bench mark, dating to 1844-45, is on the west face of the tower of St John the Baptist, Cayton. Hidden from the view of the casual observer behind some shrubs it can be revealed with care. The horizontal line is slightly damaged and there appears to be a letter or letters on the right of the mark. See also TA0583 : Base of the tower of St John the Baptist, Cayton
