NG4735 : Footbridge over Varragill River

taken 8 years ago, 4 km from Crossal, Highland, Great Britain

Footbridge over Varragill River
Footbridge over Varragill River
This little footbridge crosses the Varragill River a few miles south of Portree.
Although the A87 Sligachan to Portree road passes close by, the bridge is not visible from the road because of the steepness of the approach slope.
This may be just as well - the wooden bridge looks to be in poor condition.
The trees beyond are in Varragill forest. Those which survive the storms are likely to be harvested soon.
