TQ9153 : Birch Wood above Lenham

taken 8 years ago, near to Warren Street, Kent, Great Britain

Birch Wood above Lenham
Birch Wood above Lenham
Autumn stubble field and the footpath heading for the left side of the wood, where there seems to lie a mound of white material. This might possibly be chalk for treating the sands and ironstone of the Lenham Beds, an unusual bit of geology underlying this spot on the top of the North Downs.
