The Sandstone Trail, Primrose Hill
The Sandstone Trail, Primrose Hill
On the Sandstone Trail looking towards the radio masts on Pale Heights and Hanging Stone Hill on which deer thieves were once reputedly hanged. Nearby Kings Gate once marked the boundary of a vast forest which, in the rein of King Charles I, stretched from Nantwich to the River Mersey. Photo taken from Primrose Hill on which the forest has recently been cleared and replanted.
