Flatholm educational centre
Today, this building is the Flatholm educational centre which also incorporates a fascinating museum about the military and radio history (Marconi's early experiments) of this island.
Originally built in 1864 as barracks to house 50 men to man the gun emplacements on the island.
The rare plant in the foreground is wild leek - which can only be found in a few locations in the country.
