ST2264 : War Department benchmark

near to Flat Holm [other Features], The Vale of Glamorgan, Great Britain

War Department benchmark
War Department benchmark
There are no Ordnance Survey triangulation pillars on Flatholm but there are a number of these - and based on the numbers on these small stone pillars there used to be a whole lot more.

The small stone pillar (about a foot tall) has an individual number, the letters W D - and between the letters a bench mark, minus the usual top horizontal line that is normally seen on benchmarks and cut marks.
