Bank collapse on the Plym
The river eats away at the irregular landscape created by china clay working, making a walk along the grassy bank hazardous. It has changed its course here, ironing out meanders and thus becoming swifter; this is probably the reason for the many small weirs that have been built across it in an effort at river-calming.
