Rampart remains of Iron Age fort, St Davids Head
The end of the headland at St Davids Head is the site of an extensive Iron Age fort. The remains of three parallel ramparts and also round-house foundations can be seen. In the valley to the east of the fort is an extensive system of iron age agricultural enclosures. The fort, settlement and enclosures were the work of the Demetae, a Celtic people who inhabited a large area of what are now the counties of Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire.
