Upper Lambourne Field
Upper Lambourne Field
The name of this section of the field according to the 1838 tithe map and once part of Streat Common that was enclosed in the early 17th century. The large modern field was once broken up into smaller fields called Upper and Lower Lambourne Fields, Long Mead, Toll Tree Field and Little Mead. The remnant of Lambourne Wood lies at the end of the field surrounding a small stream called Lambourne Gill.
