Oxwell Mains windmill, Dunbar
Oxwell Mains windmill, Dunbar
The remains of a small windmill are found near the A1 and the Cement Works, east of Dunbar. Originally associated with Oxwellmains farm the windmill which dates from the late 18th century appears to have been used for pumping water and it is suggested that it is Scotland's smallest surviving windmill. It stands close to an abandoned limestone quarry and must have been used to keep the quarry dry.
