Old North British Hotel from Waverley Bridge
Old North British Hotel from Waverley Bridge
Incongruously renamed the Balmoral, presumably to lure tourists with the prospect of the Highlands another hundred miles north, the hotel built above Waverley Station has direct lift access to the platforms below. Some scenes in the 2007 film 'Hallam Foe' were set inside the Clock Tower. The clock was traditionally set three minutes faster than real time to encourage passengers at risk of arriving late to speed up to catch their trains on time.
