Rougham Lake
Excerpt from the Rougham Fishery website: Link
"This 3½ acre lake is undoubtedly one of the prettiest, most tranquil lakes in the region. Its banks are surrounded by mixed woodlands that are home to a vast array of wildlife, including barn owl, woodpecker, deer and fox. The lake too holds its share of wild inhabitants with several species of duck, heron, kingfisher, a few geese and a pair of black swans. With the lake being surrounded by trees, Autumn brings not only one of the most colourful times of the year to the lake but also one of the most important. As the mass of leaves fall, many find their way into the lake, forming over the years a black, silt bottom that is enriched with bloodworm and other insect larvae. The fish in the lake are predominantly carp." Roach, bream, tench and pike are also present.
