SK9102 : Pilton Crossroads: parapet of former ironstone railway bridge

Pilton Crossroads: parapet of former ironstone railway bridge
One of four parapets at the crossroads. Two short tunnels carried the lines to the quarries west and south of the village. The quarries have now been filled in but the overgrown railway cutting parallel to the Luffenham road is clearly visible. See my photos in SK9202 for more on the Pilton Quarry Railway.
