The western edge of Roundway Hill Covert, near Heddington
Roundway Hill Covert is a nature reserve sitting on the western escarpment that extends south from Beacon Hill. It is plainly situated on fertile soil that allows for the abundant tree growth. The escarpment behind the viewpoint is chalk with only a thin covering of soil. The balloon in the distance was drifting very slowly on a negligible southerly airflow.
