Earthworks, Leith Links
The western mound on Leith Links, resembling a prehistoric barrow, is believed to have been created as a gun emplacement for the Siege of Leith in 1560. It appears on the OS map as 'Somerset's Battery', although a respected local historian refuted this idea in the 1990s, claiming it was simply a natural mound.
