NT2675 : Old wall, Arthur Street Lane

taken 8 years ago, near to Edinburgh, Great Britain

Old wall, Arthur Street Lane
Old wall, Arthur Street Lane
You can tell this is an old wall because the top hasn't been rounded off with coping stones of the type that seem to have been universally used on Edinburgh garden walls from about the 1860s onwards. Judging from the OS map for 1849, it was part of a wall enclosing what looks like a nursery or an orchard before the cottages now standing behind it were built.
