Mid Dam
Mid Dam
Mid Dam or Mid Loch (1 x ¾ furl.) as it was known, was one of a chain of three lochs that supplied water to power both the cotton and corn mills in Eaglesham. Although now disused, the embankment walls can still be seen. The Ordnance Survey one-inch 'Popular' edition map indicated that the loch still contained water in 1925. Links to High Dam Link and Picketlaw Reservoir Link . Eaglesham Curling Club often used Mid Dam for curling when the dams were frozen.
