NX5288 : Firebreak leading from the hill

3 km from Castlemaddy, Dumfries And Galloway, Great Britain

Firebreak leading from the hill
Firebreak leading from the hill
Foolishly we decided to cut through this firebreak to the track, rather than following along till we came to the path through the trees. Firebreaks are ALWAYS a mistake! Rough, tussocky hell and to be avoided except in dire emergency. Note that this is very close to the area known as 'Bloody Mires'; enough said!
