Castles of Munster: Rathmore, Limerick
One of several similar towers in this area, this Desmond castle of five storeys lies to the north of the Camogue River. In 1580 Sir Nicholas Malby, Governor of Connacht, captured the castle after his victory the year before at Monaster.
