Castles of Munster: Ardmayle, Tipperary
East of the Suir, and opposite a medieval church still in use, is one of two castle remains at Ardmayle, this one being a 40 foot high Butler tower house. The north wall of a four storey stronghouse down by the river in the next grid square unfortunately was not accessible at the time I visited.
