TQ2879 : Victoria Bus Station
near to Westminster, Great Britain

Victoria Bus Station
Mercedes-Benz Citaro buses line up for departure. The two closest to the camera are bendybuses and are threatened with extinction by the current (in 2009) Mayor of London. The vehicle on the 507 is a 12 metre replacement vehicle on what was a Bendybus route until very recently.
Recently an unexpected alliance between Unite (the transport workers union) and the RAC (Royal Automobile Club) has appeared to challenge the assumptions behind disposing of the bendybuses. If they are unsuccessful in their cause, the bendybuses should have all gone from London's streets by 2012. A very short working life compared with the Routemaster and the RT.
