TQ1445 : Mag's Well

taken 16 years ago, near to Coldharbour, Surrey, England

Mag's Well
Mag's Well
Hidden in the woods behind Coldharbour is Mag's Well, a healing spring said to ease skin complaints. Being slightly impregnated with sulphate of magnesia, the water has a somewhat sulphurous taste and should not be taken in any significant quantity. The name is probably a corruption of St. Margaret's Well.
