"Water" by Thompson Dagnall
This statue stands at the top lock of the Ribble Link, the newly (2000-2002) built canal link between the Lancaster Canal and the River Ribble.

According to the plaque, this contemplative man - "Water" - is "Gauging the Ripple".

According to locals, he is doing something much more simple - which may be contributing to the poor water quality in the Ribble Link!
