Mahonia bush in flower, Newquay railway station
The clement weather in Newquay has encouraged the mahonia into early flowering. This bush is quite near to the new row of seats and those familiar with mahonia will know that the flowers have a pleasant sweet perfume, though some find it a little heavy. It's better than the odour of fast foods which proliferate at Newquay. The flowers are much favoured by bumble bees in the winter months, which will be out when the temperature gets around 50 degress fahrenheit.
