Damaged 1GL bench mark on St Mary's church
This very weathered early bench mark is on the west face of one of the buttresses on the south west corner of St Mary's. The cut mark and bolt is number 56 on the First Geodetic Levelling line between Newcastle under Lyme and Chester, which was carried out in the period 1851-1858.
