Overhead maintenance near Ballaglass
For maintenance of the overhead wire, which carries the 600V DC traction supply, the Manx Electric Railway uses special unpowered vehicles, known as Tower Wagons. Here, Car No 14, rarely used in passenger service, is acting as Works Car and has towed two of the tower wagons to a site near Ballaglass, where the wire needs attention.
