SJ7697 : Barton Aqueduct swinging

near to Eccles, Salford, Great Britain

Barton Aqueduct swinging.
Barton Aqueduct swinging.
Photographed in mid-swing from the centre island. The road bridge is beyond and is already closed. The machinery room is directly below the centre and my colleague is visible in the open doorway. We were quite fortunate to get these photographs and to be allowed to wander around the plant on a cold call basis. I wouldn't suggest you try it in 2009.
