The funeral directors premises on the corner shows a history of sign writing on the side wall. The original small rectangular advert appears to have also been for J. Nodes and Co, though it is almost impossible to read. The darker patch suggests that for a number of years this was covered by an advertising hoarding which was subsequently removed. The current sign writing was applied after removal of the hoarding. I think that is the sequence of events, but cannot confirm that I have them in the right order.
