The track running up to the curiously-named Great Tack is right of way, although not a dedicated footpath or bridleway. The area is very well kept, with woodlands and wetlands visible from the track which runs along the side of the Ithon Valley. Larch trees give a welcome splash of colour under a rather drab sky.
